Tom Lemieux
Board Member
President & Club Director

Tom Lemieux is the head coach for Springfield High School. He was the offensive coordinator for five years for Springfield before accepting the head coach position in 2010. He earned the honor of 2010 EPSLA Assistant Coach of the year. Coach Lemieux was the offensive coordinator at Cabrini College prior to Springfield High School.

A graduate of Comsewogue High School in Long Island, New York. As a senior, he was a member of New York Championship Team that was ranked second in the nation. Tom earned All-League Honors as a Junior and All-County Honors as a Senior.

Coach Lemieux is a graduate from Cabrini College with a B.A. in Sociology and a Masters in Special Education. At Cabrini, Tom led the Cavaliers to two straight conference championships as a Captain. Tom received All Conference honors all four years and was named Player of the Year in his conference and Male Athlete of the Year. He ended his career as the all time leading scorer. In 2007, Tom was the first ever men's lacrosse player inducted into the Cabrini College Athletic Hall of Fame.

Coach Lemieux is a Special Education Teacher at Ridley High School, and resides in Springfield with his wife Kristy and daughter Eva and son Tommy.

In 2013, Tom helped to found Springfield Cougars Lacrosse Club, Inc. and currently serves as its President (Club Director) and is a member of its Board of Directors.  In 2015, Tom was honored as Coach of the Year by the DelCo Times.  In 2015, Tom was the Head Coach of U13 team. In 2016, Tom served as Assistant Coach of U9 team (2025/2026).  


John Cugini
Board Member

Club Assistant Director

John Cugini played for the Springfield High School boys' lacrosse team between 2006 and 2009. Named team MVP as a senior and helped his team advance to the PA State semifinals. Played collegiate lacrosse at the University of Denver from 2010-11.

In October 2014, John was selected to join the Board of Directors of Springfield Cougars Lacrosse Club.

In 2016, John returns for a second season coaching in the SCLC Summer Travel Lacrosse Program, this time at the Head Coach level for U9 (2025/2026).


Sarah Geary-Damato 
Board Member
Girls Lacrosse Assistant Director

2016 is Sarah Geary-Damato’s 2nd year as Assistant Coach and Goalie Coach for Springfield High School. Prior to coaching at Springfield, Coach Geary was the Head Coach for two years at Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia. She has been the Goalie Coach for known club teams in the area such as Phantastixs and QC lax.

A 2007 graduate of Springfield High School, Sarah was a three-sport athlete. Played four years of lacrosse as goalkeeper. First Team All-American her senior year. First Team All-Delco and First Team All-Central for three years. All-Southeastern junior and senior year. District Champions three years including undefeated 21-0 campaign her senior year. Also played four years of field hockey and was named MVP her senior year. First Team All-Delco and First Team All-Central junior and senior year. Captain and MVP freshman year on basketball team.  

Coach Geary is a graduate from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She received her B.S. in Special Education, Masters in Special Education, and Autism Certificate. At ODU, Sarah was CAA Rookie of the Year. Selected to the 2009 CAA All-Rookie Team. Named All-South Region Second Team by the IWLCA. Garnered Second Team All-CAA honors 2 years in a row. Chosen as part of the WomensLacrosse.com National All-Rookie Team. VaSID All-State Lacrosse First Team. She ranks #1 in career ground balls with 208, #1 with career saves with 567, and #2 in career caused turnovers with 84 in ODU women's lacrosse record books. She was also captain her junior and senior year for the lady monarchs. 

Coach Geary is a Special Education Teacher and resides in Drexel Hill with her husband Tyler.

In April 2016, Sarah was selected to join the SCLC Board of Directors.


Mike DePetris
Board Member
Treasurer

A graduate of Springfield High School class of 1995, Mike DePetris played varsity Football and Lacrosse.

Currently a Pennsylvania Certified Public Accountant in private practice, Mike has served as Treasurer for the Springfield Cougars Lacrosse Club since October 2013. In April 2014, Mike was selected to join the Board of Directors.


Brian Gougler
Board Member      

Brian Gougler has been an advocate, coach and organizer within the Springfield Youth Lacrosse community for several years. Brian is currently a Program Director for Boys Lacrosse for the Springfield Athletic Association. Brian also is a local representative to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Youth Lacrosse Association or SEPYLA.

Brian is a founder and current Board member of Springfield Cougars Lacrosse Club, Inc. Brian volunteers his time through all manner of activities benefiting the Club.


Ed Grafstrom
Board Member

Ed Grafstrom has been an advocate, coach and organizer within the Springfield Youth Lacrosse community for several years. Ed is committed to the organization and recruitment of boys to the sport of lacrosse, especially at the elementary levels. Ed is currently the lead organizer of the Winter lacrosse programs at both Ampro (Grades 1-3) and Maple Zone (Grades 4-5) and runs the Intramural Lacrosse Program for the Springfield Athletic Association.

Ed is a founder and current Board member of Springfield Cougars Lacrosse Club, Inc. Ed volunteers his time as the Club’s U9 Developmental Coordinator.


Kevin Keenan
Board Member

A 1995 graduate of Springfield High School, Kevin Keenan played varsity Football, Lacrosse and Wrestling. In 1995, he was recognized as Male Athlete of the Year. In Lacrosse, Kevin played Goalie and was a Captain, recognized as team MVP, received All Delco and All State honors his junior and senior years. In Football, Kevin was Captain and two-way starter on the 1994 team that was undefeated in the regular season, winning the Central League title and qualifying for the PA State Playoffs. In 2011, Kevin was inducted into the Springfield High School Athletics Hall of Fame.

Kevin continued as a Goalie for the Pennsylvania State University where he finished second on the All Time Save list. Kevin was elected team MVP at PSU three times and was Captain his senior year. Kevin went on to play Lacrosse professionally and was a member of two championship teams with the Philadelphia Barrage.

Kevin currently serves on the Board of Directors of Baggataway Lacrosse Club.

Kevin is a founder and current Board member of Springfield Cougars Lacrosse Club, Inc. Kevin also volunteers his time to the Club as a Head Coach. In 2016, Kevin volunteered his services as Head Coach of G5 team (2023).


Jim Kennedy
Board Member
Secretary & General Counsel

A 1993 graduate of Springfield High School, Jim Kennedy played varsity Football & Lacrosse. In Lacrosse, Jim was a member of the 1992 PA State Championship team. Jim also played collegiate lacrosse at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Since 2014, Jim has been President of the Springfield Youth Club.

Jim is a founder and current Board member of Springfield Cougars Lacrosse Club, Inc., where he also serves as Secretary and General Counsel. Jim also volunteers his time to the Club as an Assistant Coach. In 2016, Jim volunteered his services as Assistant Coach of G5 team (2023).


Rob O'Brien
Board Member
Club Trainer

A lifelong resident of Springfield Township, Rob O’Brien is a 1986 graduate of Springfield High School. Rob was 4 year varsity lacrosse player garnering All State Honorable Mention in the 1986 season.

A 1990 graduate of the University of Delaware, Rob received an BS in Athletic Training and has remained a Certified Athletic Trainer since that time. In 1999, Rob graduated from Neumann University where he received an MS in Physical Therapy. He has been a licensed Physical Therapist since 1999.

Rob has more than 15 years of lacrosse officiating experience at the youth, high school and collegiate levels. He has been a member of the Keystone Lacrosse Officials Association since 1999 and is current PIAA certified.

Rob has six years coaching experience with Springfield Athletic Association in various capacities including K-1 Clinic Instructor, Intramural Instructor, C1 and B1 Coaching. In 2014, Rob was the B1 (Grade 5/6) Coach.

Rob is a founder and current Board member of Springfield Cougars Lacrosse Club, Inc. Rob volunteers his time as Club Trainer during all practices and tournament events.
